Praised for being one of the easiest indoor trees to grow, this plant can reach around six feet in height. It’s quite a spectacle in any room, given its long leaves that are coloured in greens and dark reds around the edges. It’s also useful for removing toxins found in everyday household cleaning products.

While the Marginata is a tall plant, it’s a slow grower, so don’t expect it to shoot up instantly. You know what they say – Rome wasn’t built in a day!

Neglect this plant for a while and it will probably still survive – not that we’d recommend you do that, of course! Show the Marginata love with humidity and frequent mistings of its leaves.

This plant is grown in a peat-free medium, so you may find that the top soil tends to dry out a little faster – but don’t worry, just use your finger and test to see if the top 2-3 inches of soil are still moist, to avoid overwatering. You’ll also want to treat your plant to fertiliser during growing season, as you won’t find the same nutrients in this mix as you’d find in traditional soil.
